Garden Pond Rebuild
In 2007 I decided to redo the pond.
This time I dug out a bigger area and used edging retaining wall block to get vertical sides. I then stacked and secured rock layers on the inside of the pond top to bottom so you can not see any liner along the sides.
Believe it or not, the lilly nearest to you is the same one from the orignal pond. It has grown many times larger now. I added some new Koi fish, Lobsters, Comets, and Mosquito fish. Also for plants there is a new lilly, cannis, underwater plants, dwarf cattails, and chameleon plants along the stream.
Pond volume is about 1500 gallons. There is a 2400 GPH pump supplying the waterfall through a skimmer. Also in the skimmer is a 900 GPH pump that supplies a UV Sterilizer and then returns back to the pond via side jets. The side jets help add some water movement and the fish enjoy the under water currents.
Original Garden Pond
This is the pond as it was when I moved into the house. It was a preformed plastic pond, minimal in size. There were only a couple fish, some lillies, and very few lilly pads.
Pond volume was about 150 gallons.
